The Parable of the Wedding Feast

Previously, we found that the Greater Second Exodus will have a similar outcome to the Exodus from Egypt.

Therefore, the day will come, says יהוה, when it is no longer said, “יהוה lives who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.” Rather, it will be said, ”יהוה lives, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again to their land that I gave unto their fathers.” (Jeremiah 16:14 KJVm)

We also determined that the Kingdom parables are about events which will take place at “the end of the age” and describe a refinement process, where “rebellious individuals” are going to be purged from “the Remnant” during the Greater Second Exodus.

And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am  יהוה .  (Ezekiel 20:38 KJVm)

We further found that the Son of Man has provided us with these Kingdom parables so that “the Remnant” may be prepared to overcome these purges.

“But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes, and he *said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:11-14 NASB)

From the parable of the Wedding Feast, we see that one individual is purged for not wearing the correct clothes.

This suggest that “the Remnant” will be expected to be wearing a specific type of clothing while in the Place of Refuge.  Determining the correct clothes that is needed to be worn, so as not to be purged, will be the focus of this article.

From the earliest parts of the Bible, we see that Elohim has a clothing requirement for people that seek Him.

Then He said, “Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” (Exodus 3:5 NASB)

For example, at the “burning bush” on mount Horeb, we see that Moses is instructed to remove his sandals in the presence of יהוה .

In this manner shall you eat; with your loins girded, shoes on your feet and your staff in your hand.  And you shall eat it in haste for it is YHVH’s passover. (Exodus 12:11 KJVm)

We also see that the Children of Israel were instructed on the clothing that they were expected to wear during the Exodus from Egypt.  Let’s take a minute to analyze this verse.

First, they weren’t told of the type of garments they were to wear, because at that time the only clothes they possessed were those that a slave (working in a brick pit) would wear.  Therefore, we have to assume that this type of attire met with YHVH’s approval

Next we see that this is also a description of a “hasty” exit.  Not just in the eating.  These people were about to flee  into the wilderness with only the clothes on their backs.

I have led you forty years in the wilderness; your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandal has not worn out on your foot. (Deuteronomy 29: 5 NASB)

Notice that  they were still wearing the same garments that they began Exodus with, 40 years earlier.

Likewise, “the Remnant” are facing a similar “hasty” situation. Matthew 24:15-21 provides us with instructions.

“Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), (Matthew 24:15 NASB)

The scenario begins with the desecration of third temple by the Abomination of Desolation which denotes the start of the Great Tribulation.

WE ARE FOREWARNED

Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. (Matthew 24:16 NASB)

These instructions are specifically for “the Remnant of Israel” which will be assembled in Judaea, just outside the city of Jerusalem.

Notice that the act of “desecrating” of the third temple (by the Abomination) is the signal for those of you, which will be assembled in Judaea, to “flee” to the mountain fortress we know as the Old City of Jerusalem.

REMNANT MUST BE ON ZION

Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. (Matthew 24:17 NASB)

According to the Son of Man, there won’t be time to pack so you will need to be prepared…

Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. (Matthew 24:18 NASB)

…and, like the Exodus from Egypt, you will be going in with only the clothes on your back.

So, what are the garments that “the Remnant” are expected to wear at that time?

He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. (Revelation 3:5 NASB)

Overcomers are expect to wear white.  But not just any material.

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. Revelation 11:3

Notice, that the two witnesses (which will be with “the Remnant” in the Old City) will be wearing sackcloth.

SUPPORTING VERSES

But you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments; and they will walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. (Revelation 3:4 NASB)

I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. (Revelation 3:18 NASB)
