31 – THE 144,000 AND THE FIFTH TRUMPET PLAGUE – D

The 144,000 and The Daughters of Zion are “the Remnant of Israel” and they will be the only believers that will be alive to greet the Yeshua at His second coming.  The rest of the believers will have been martyred.  This conclusion is based on the Fifth Trumpet Plague, which is the focus of this article.

According to John, all mankind will be affected by the Fifth Trumpet Plague, all except those men which have “the seal of the Most High” in their foreheads.

  • And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of The Most High in their foreheads.

Revelation 9:3-4 KJVm

The 144,000 (which represent the 12 tribes of Israel) are the only males that will be sealed “with the seal of The Most High in their foreheads.”

  • And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living Most High and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our Most High in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Revelation 7:2-4 KJVm

Based on this initial evidence, one could conclude that if there were any other believers alive at that time then they would also be affected by the Fifth Trumpet Plague.

At first glance it would appear that  the 144,000 men are the only ones protected from the Fifth Trumpet Plague.   However, this isn’t the case.

Notice that Yeshua instructs us to pray that we are counted “Worthy to Escape” the future apocalypse and to be found alive “standing” with Yeshua at His Second Advent.

  • Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before The Son of Man.

Luke 21:36 KJVm

According to John, the only ones identified as found “standing” with The Lamb at the time of His Second Coming are the 144,000, which confirms our initial conclusion.

  • Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with Him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.

Revelation 14:1 NIV

Notice that the Remnant are counted according to each one of the twelve tribes of Israel.

A PROPHETIC CENSUS

This counting of the 144,000 works like an Old Testament census, where the men were counted and recorded by name according to the family and tribe they were a part of.

  • “Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one.

Numbers 1:2 NIV

Women were also counted. However, they were not registered in their own name.  Rather, their identities were based on the family ties of their men.

NOAH 8

This process of taking a census also applies to Bible prophecy.  Take Noah for example. The Scriptures identifies Noah as one of a group of eight individuals that survived the flood.

  • Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of The Most High waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

1 Peter 3:20 KJVm

Noah’s Eight

The male count was four men, which were documented by name.

  • And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Genesis 6: 10 KJV

The female count was also four.  However, these women weren’t identified by their own name, rather, they were simply recognized as the wife of Noah and the wives of his three sons.

  • But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

Genesis 6: 18  KJV

LOT 3

Another past example is that of Lot and the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah.

The prophetic scriptures identify a group of three individuals, who survived the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.  The male count was one man, which was recognized by his name; Lot.

  •   And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

Genesis 19:30 KJV

The female count was two women, identified simply as Lot’s daughters.

  • And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

Genesis 19:30 KJV

LOT AND DESTRUCTION OF SODOM & GOMORRAH

So, in the flood scenario and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, both the “surviving” men and women were counted.  The difference was that the men were recorded by their names and the women were identified by virtue of their ties to their men.

THE DAUGHTERS OF ZION

Isaiah chapter 4, identifies a group of women, which the prophet identifies as “The Daughters of Zion.”

  • When The Most High shall have washed away the filth of the Daughters of Zion and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

Isaiah 4:4 KJVm

Like the 144,000 men, which will be recorded “standing” on Mount Zion, these Daughters of Zion will also be found on Mount Zion and will be “recorded among the living in Jerusalem.”

  • Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 4:3 NIV

And just as the 144,000 men are counted, the women will also be counted.  Specifically seven women to every one man.  And like an Old Testament census, the number of the Daughters of Zion will be recorded, according to the tribal name, which the men are a part.

  • In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!”

Isaiah 4:1 KJV

Just as Noah’s wife, his daughters-in-law and Lot’s two daughters were protected from their prospective calamities, the Daughters of Zion are also going to be protected from the Fifth Trumpet Plague.

 IN REVIEW

The Fifth Trumpet plague is designed to afflict all mankind except those that have the seal of The Most High in their foreheads.

The 144,000 will be the only men sealed and protected from The Fifth Trumpet plague…

  • And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Revelation 7:2-4 KJVm

…and will be found alive “standing “on Mount Zion with Yeshua at His Second Coming.

  • Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with Him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.

Revelation 14:1 NIV

The 144,000 will be counted and their names will be recorded according to the tribes of which they are a part.

12 Tribes

Similarly, the Daughters of Zion will also be “recorded among the living” on Mount Zion  in Jerusalem”….

  • Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 4:3 NIV

…and will also be counted according to the tribal name, which the men are a part.

  • In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!”

Isaiah 4:1 KJV

This “elect” group of men and women are “The Remnant of Israel.”   And they will be the only believers that will be alive at the Second Coming of the Messiah.  All other believers will have been martyred by that time.  If there were any other believers alive at that time, then they would also be afflicted by the Fifth Trumpet Plague.
