According to Josephus, one million ninety thousand Jews survived for the 143 days of the siege.

Unfortunately, without divine intervention, The Old City eventually fell to the Romans and one million Jews were killed with the remaining ninety thousand being taken into captivity.

However, the account of the 70 AD siege reveals that the area that we know as The Old City will support (with divine intervention) over a million people for an extended period of time.
